Mr Henry Wilson is a qualified Marine Engineer and has wide experiences in working on marine engines of various propulsion powers from 200kw to over 3000kw vessel power, he has sailed both locally and internationally

Prior to his employment with PMTC, he worked at the PNG Maritime College in Madang starting in July 1999 as an Engineering Lecturer. Whilst at the College he was able to performed duties such as developing course notes for the Engine Ratings,Engineer Grade 5, Engineer grade 4 and Engineer grade 3, whilst also taking charge of co coordinating and conducting safety courses for the past 12 years from 1999 to end of April of 2011.

 

He joined the Professional Trainers of Pacific Maritime Training College (PMTC) in April of 2011, to assist in developing human resource in maritime studies in Marine Engineering.

Henry is currently in charge of the Engineering Department of PMTC. In his capacity of heading the technical department and ensuring safe machinery operation within the college and its subsidiary companies.

In his capacity as the Deputy Principal, he overs see’s the management of all trainings in collaboration with the Principal and the Registrar.

In his capacity, he also oversee’s all sea safety courses;

  • Safety of life at sea (SOLAS),

  • Basic & Advance Fire Fighting

  • Basic & Advance Fire Fighting

  • Small Boat and safety awareness and Operation

  • fire awareness shore based

  • Best Practice and Retro-fitting in RAC industries, etc.

 

In addition to his existing qualifications, he has received trainings in lesson plan preparation and conducting internal audits at PMTC.
