The study of Navigation enables the ships navigation Officers to “know where their ship is, know the passage their vessel is taking and being able to navigate their vessel to arrive at the desired destination safely.
Safe navigation at sea requires a good understanding of charts and nautical publications and the information they contain, a sound knowledge of navigation techniques and the ability to plan the anticipated voyage from berth to berth.
This module provides the learner with the knowledge and skills necessary to plan and conduct coastal passages in vessels up to 200 gross.
