The Marine Technical Propulsion course is a competency based training which is a mirror of the merchant marine engineer class 5 level of training. This training provides participants with theory and practical understanding of tasks that are required of a marine engineer to competently perform watch keeping duties on ships with 500KW engine horse power. The training covers broad range of topics areas covering, theoretical engineering knowledge, auxiliary machinery that support the operation of ships, safety rules, electrical and hydraulic systems. The training enables skill building, covering mechanical skill, problem solving skills and analytical skills to have the skills and competency to deal with emergencies at sea.
