Cargo operation is a specialized area in any merchant ship where safety of operations is considered prime concern. There are great risks to safety at sea and to individual seafarers if untrained workers are responsible for the loading and discharging a ship. Ship’s Officers who are designated for handling cargoes are trained in the area of loading, discharging and stowage of cargo for ships, because of the nature of different types of cargo, cargo’s effect on the ship’s stability, as well as the cargo operational equipment. Participants will be made aware of the safety features of cargo working gear, risks associated with dangerous goods, importance of proper stowage, types of cargo securing equipment and the how the cargo’s stowage location affects the ships stability.

Advanced SOLAS training is an amalgamation of courses which consists of the advanced firefighting, survival craft and rescue boats training and medical first courses that are sandwiched to provide advanced safety and emergency preparedness training for ships officers at master class four level to master class one and engineer class three level up to engineer class one level.

This training aims to provide that environment to learn the operational, command and control operations in a shipboard situation, with the correct mind set, because emergency situation on ships must be handled with confidence and calmness, for haste decisions and “jumping to conclusions” can make the matters even worse. The advanced SOLAS training involves theoretical and practical demonstrations where participants will apply their knowledge and experience in realistic simulated scenarios which may not only be limited to fires, sea survival or medical response, emergencies can be unexpected situation which would involve pollution, spills, man-overboard, machinery failure, damage caused by heavy seas on ships and its cargo and many more.

This training course is aimed at preparing ships engineer officers to perform, second engineer officer duties, as required by regulation III/3 of the STCW Convention 1978 as amended or be Chief Engineer on vessels with propulsion powers up to 3000KW, as stipulated in regulation III/3 of the STCW Convention and Code as amended. Every candidate for certification as second engineer, in-charge of a watch in a manned engine-room or as designated duty engineer in a periodically unmanned engine-room or be chief engineers of ships powered by main propulsion machinery up to 3000 kW, shall perform the duties of monitoring and operating all kinds of ships power plants, ranging from mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, refrigeration plant, pumping systems, ventilations systems and control equipment.

Along with the knowledge and practical trade skills, the engineer officer needs to have good people skills, communication skills and be the kind of person who’s decisive, calm and able to inspire confidence in others in a complex modern ships machinery space.

This training will provide the participants with theory and practical sessions to understand the essentials of sea safety. The training serves as an induction training for non-seafarer personal who will be performing their technical trade tasks on-board ocean-going vessels and also for those who are already seafarers, this training enhances their existing knowledge to maintain the safety conscious mind frame and the attitude of always be prepared for any emergency that may arise on board their vessel. Participants will gain an appreciation of the potential hazards and control measures they may encounter.
The training includes both theoretical and practical elements which are performed on board a vessel to gain a realistic understanding and sense of emergencies when off shore.

After the candidates have completed the Basic Welding Course and have a minimum one year industry experience this course includes; Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), and Tig Welding. In this class of Iron Worker, it will be categorize as a certified pipe welder which utilizes the pipe welding will be applied and observed. The Operational Use of Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (ECDIS) is a computer-based navigation information system that complies with the international Maritime regulations and can be used as an alternative to paper charts. This course is intended to provide the knowledge, skill and understanding of ECDIS and electronic charts fully purposely to safely navigate vessels whose primary means of navigation is ECDIS. The course emphasizes both the application and learning of ECDIS in a variety of underway contexts.

The Elementary First Aid Course covers basic theory and practical sessions. The training will enable the participant to provide assessment of needs of casualties and threats to own safety, appreciation of body structure and functions.
The course is aimed at all seafarers to equip them with the basic knowledge and skills to take immediate action upon encountering an accident or other medical emergency and also to provide a first response, life support and management of casualties and incidents until medical aid arrives.

This course is designed for seafarers who would apply immediate advanced first aid in the event of an accident or illness onboard a vessel.

This is an advanced first aid training course for seafarers that meet IMO: STCW Regulation VI/4 and STCW Code Section A-VI/4, and requirements under TP 13008 Training Standards for Marine First Aid and Marine Medical Care.

The Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) course is tailored for inexperienced boat owners and operators with no formal certification or those with expired safety qualifications.

The enclosed space entry procedure course is designed to prepare officers and crew members joining ships to become aware of the dangers involved with work and entry into enclosed spaces on board the ship. The candidates are informed of the the risks associated with enclosed spaces and trained to prevent accidents by taking suitable precautions while working in enclosed spaces.

The course is aimed at any person designated on muster lists with the responsibility for the safety of passengers in emergency situations on board passenger ships.

This course addresses the main factors to be aware of in a crisis and the key measures seafarers should deploy, such as how ship’s crew assess and respond to a crisis using the resources available; how the crew cope with the stress involved; how ship’s crew control large numbers of passengers and how the ship’s crew communicate effectively with passengers. This training will assist candidates to appreciate utilize existing resources on board, such as, any other person assigned immediate responsibility for embarking and disembarking passengers, for loading, discharging or securing cargo, or for closing hull openings.

This training follows the IMO Model course 3.20, with the aim to provide participants with a firm understanding of the purpose of the ISPS Code and current maritime security threats and patterns relating to shipping and ports. The training provides awareness on the recent conventions that are applied onboard vessels, engaged on international trade. Participants will be embedded with the knowledge of current security threats affecting international shipping industry and the interfacing measures with port facilities serving international ships. This training will enable participants to understand the reality of today’s security issues on a global scale and how it can affect trade and commerce. Participant’s mindset will be enlightened to see the seriousness of current security threats ranging from piracy, terrorism, contraband, smuggling, collateral damage, cargo theft and etc, which affects shipping and ports all around the globe. This training aims to motivate participants to acquire the required knowledge and skills to competently perform in their capacity as company security Officers to ensure ships are managed well to comply with the ISPS Code requirement and flag state’s obligations.

The Basic Computer & IT program is aimed at learners who have low-level Computer knowledge and very limited experience with the functions of a computer. To improve computer skills and knowledge, the learners are introduced to and use Windows programs.

The activities in this program address the needs of learners who want to learn basic computer skills to enhance their employability or for their personal interests and goals.

It's important to have a solid foundation of basic computer skills. Depending on your industry and employer, the computer skills you need will greatly vary. Understanding the various types of basic computer skills will help you to better understand what skills may be required for your field.

This course offers relevant skills in understanding the principle of electrical equipment and maintenance of the ship. It covers the important principles and hands-on features governing the operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and common control systems found on board. Training instruction and activities are based on actual devices to take full advantage of the practical aspects of the work carried on board.

This is a modeled IMO course tailored for individuals in the security industry in PNG who choose to operate in a maritime industry environment. The course is originally designed for all seafarers without any designated security appointment. General awareness of maritime security threat and emergencies.

This training will provide the participants with the knowledge and skills required to safely operate propulsion plant (s) and auxiliary equipment on a vessel not exceeding 750 kW propulsion power. This training shall prepare the marine engineer to perform the duties of monitoring the mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, refrigeration plant, pumping systems, ventilations systems and control equipment, as well as being in charge of engine management systems, maintenance of the machinery in engine room and ship’s deck.

Therefore the engineer officer needs to be practical, resourceful and have a real interest in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical systems and identify basic stability requirements on vessels as well as calculate fuel consumption and storage requirements on vessels.

This training will provide participants with the engineering knowledge and skills required to safely operate machinery and maintain electrical equipment on board a vessel.
